TRAVEL BY BALLOON
Flights Over Swiss Alps
(N.Z.P.A.-Reuter—Copyright) LONDON, July 4. A British firm of travel agents are offering clients a new method of crossing the Swiss Alps—by balloon. The firm has announced £5OO flights across the Alps for 10 passengers willing to take part in International Alpine Ballooning Week in August.
Those making the crossing will be covered by a £3OOO insurance providing for up to two years’ hospital treatment, but will be expected to provide their own Arctic clothing and food supplies. “A balloon might land in a glacier and be marooned for several hours or even days,” said a spokesman. The crossing will be made from Murren in Switzerland.
