HOLD-UP Two armed bandits today held up a branch of the A.N.Z. bank at Seven Hills, an outer suburb of Sydney, and escaped with £2500. They walked into the bank, drew their pistols and ordered the staff to empty their cash drawers. The men. in their mid-twenties, then ran from the bank and sped off in a waiting car which had its number plates covered.—Sydney, July 2. BODIES FOUND A search party today found the bodies of two Roman Catholic priests—an American and a German—in the wreckage of their crashed Cessna aircraft The plane hit a cliff face near the Asaloka Gap in New Guinea's eastern highlands on Monday.—Port Moresby, July 2. GEM LOSSES Detectives have been called in to investigate alleged diamond losses at a biR London diamond company. Losses of rough gems and industrial diamonds at the company's offices have been unofficially estimated at about £250,000. London, July 2. COLLISION At least 37 persons were injured, two seriously, when two trams collided in West Berlin today. Many of the Injured were schoolchildren. Two days ago two underground trains collided in West Berlin, injuring 85 persons.—West Berlin, July 2; NEW SIGNALS A West German observatory reported today it was picking up signals from a new Soviet space probe and there were indications it was manned. Boshum observatory said it bad been receiving the signals since 8.15 p.m. (New Zealand time). —Bonn, July 2. STOPPAGE The Australian Postal Workers’ Union, having failed to have television “spy” cameras removed from Sydney’s new Redfern mail exchange, will hold a four-hour protest stoppage of 3000 mail sorters next Friday.—Sydney, July 2. EXPLOSIVES Two men with explosives in their car were arrested last night near the United States Consulate in Montreal, which was damaged by a bomb blast two months ago.—Montreal, July 2. IDENTITY CARD Hitchhikers in France are to be provided with luminous identity cards. This has been decided by the Higher Committee for Youth meeting in Paris.—Paris, July 2.
