TRAFFIC FORCE

Letters from the Minister of Transport (Mr McAlpine) and the Commissioner of Transport (Mr R. J. Pollschek) setting out proposals for a national traffic force were reported to the City Council by its traffic committee last evening The committee said that without full information on the intentions of the Government it was unable to make a positive recommendation The position was being investigated and a further report would be made.
