AFTER THE BOMBlNG.—Mutilated rubber trees after United States aircraft had bombed Thuan Loi, a rubber plantation town north of Dong Xoai. A South Vietnamese ranger company made a quick inspection after the bombing to find victims of a Viet Cong ambush in which 280 paratroopers disappeared. Few were found. In the background are the destroyed houses where plantation workers lived.
