Meat For Bulgaria
Almost £300,000 worth of New Zealand meat has been sold to Bulgaria on long-term credit. The 2000-ton shipment is the first major order sold direct to Bulgaria. Most of the order is for beef, but it includes 650 tons of mutton. The order will be shipped from New Zealand ports this month. Most Bulgarian trade is with other East European countries and the order is considered a breakthrough in Bulgaria’s import policy. The shortage of meat in Europe is mainly responsible.
