AMERICAN SIRE
Derby Winner From France Sea Bird’s win in the Epsom Derby, was another triumph for American blood in British racing. The French colt is by the American horse Dan Cupid (by Native Dancer) I from a French mare, Sicailande (by Sicambre). I Dan Cupid, although Ameri-can-bred. raced in France and was a close second to Herbager in the French Derby before being retired to stud there. Other big winners in Britain in the last two seasons with American influences in their breeding include Baldric 11, the winner of the 2000 Guineas last season. Nasram 11. which defeated Santa Claus, and Silly Season.
