More Maori Seats Sought
(From Our Own Reporter) WELLINGTON, June 3. Notice of a motion to ask the Government urgently to consider increasing the number of Maori electorates in conformity with the increasing Maori population was given by Sir Eruera Tirikatene (Opp., Southern Maori) in Parliament today. An Electoral Amendment Bill is at present before the House to increase the number of South Island European seats by one to 25. Maori seats are not affected.
