GIFT FROM ABROAD

N.Z. Prison Chaplains The 14 prison chaplains in New Zealand have received a gift of £179 from the “Fellowship of the Least Coin.” This money, which was received from abroad through the National Council of Churches, will be shared equally by the chaplains for items their prisoners may need. The “Fellowship of the Least Coin” is a society of women which originated in Asia but has spread throughout the world. It is primarily a fellowship of prayer, but members agreed to contribute the "least coin” from their currency every month. The fund is administered by the East Asian Christian Conference in Thailand. Most of the money is spent on evangelism and relief in under-developed countries but some projects are also selected in affluent areas. The fellowship report says that the fund is the symbol of Asian Christian concern for the mark of their brethren in every corner of the world. The Rev. A. A. Brash, who forwarded the money, said, “We believe these gifts come as a special strength to those who receive them.”
