Moreton Sugar Profit Down

Net profit of the Moreton Central Sugar Mill Company, Queensland, eased by £6479 or 5.8 per cent —to £105,417 for the year to December 31, directors have announced. Earning rate falls from 36.5 to 20.6 per cent, on capital increased by a two-for-three bonus issue during the year. Dividend is reduced from 16 to 12 per cent, including a final 6 per cent. However, total dividend distribution for 1964 on the larger capital is £61,328—a rise of £12,266. The latest profit is after tax £68,200 (down £39,800) and depreciation £52,037 (up £5397).
