He is the likely favourite for the first leg of the T.A.B. double on Saturday. Hot Foot (T. Powell) finished on to shade Debater (J. RDowling) at the end of five furlongs in Imin 7 l-ssec. the last three furlongs in 40 4-ssec. Hot Foot returns to sprinting in the Winter Handicap, the second leg of the T.A.B. double, after recording an attractive performance in finishing fourth in the Waimate Cup last week. The best time for half a mile was recorded by Golden Supreme <A. J. Tweedie), Bellita (A. 1. Powell) and Pikitcre (R. J. Skelton) in 53 3-ssec, the opening furlong in 13sec. Now Or Never (L. W. Hare) and Balshazzar (J. D. Pankhurst) were together in 54 2-ssec, the first
