Search For Plane Postponed

(New Zealand Press Association) ROTORUA, May 30. Rain and diminishing visibility forced back a Rotorua Aero Club party trying to find a crashed Cessna 172 near the Desert road south of Rangipo today.

The aircraft landed in tall scrub four and a half miles east of the road at 5.15 p.m on Friday while on a flight from Nelson to Taupo. Led by the club's chief

flying officer, Mr 1. F, Palmer, the search party intended to inspect damage to the plane and investigate ways of recovering it. The men approached to within a mile of the aircraft before turning back. Mr Palmer said on his return to Rotorua tonight that he would wait for an improvement in the weather before trying to reach the plane again. He said an access road would probably have to be bulldozed from the highway if the plane was to be recovered. Indications were that the damage was not serious. The plane had landed gently, cushioned by the tall springy manuka. The pilot of the Cessna, Mr Antony William Pratt, of Rotorua, accompanied the aero club team today. (Crash Landing Page 6)

Messrs H. B. Keena”, A. W Gooder, A. E. Pollock, S Cowley and W. J. Anderson have been appointed members of the Electricians’ Registration Board.
