TELEVISION FOR FARMER

Programme Sought The possibility of starting a television programme for farmers will be discussed with the Director of Broadcasting (Mr G. H. Stringer) by the incoming provincial executive of North Canterbury Federated Farmers. At the annual provincial conference, Mr A. Mulholland (Darfield) said there was a need for such a television programme and that it could include such topics as panel discussions, films and talks. Because of the demand for Lincoln College professors and lecturers to address farmers’ meetings and field days, Mr J. F. G. Blakely thought a television programme would be of service and also ease the burden on the professors and lecturers. He supported the proposal to investigate the starting of such a programme.
