WELLINGTON, May 28.
No reply had been received from the Government of South Vietnam on New Zealand’s decision to send troops there, the Prime Minister (Mr Holyoak) said tonight.
“Communications with Saigon take quite a long time, sometimes,” he said. Asked under whose command the troops would be placed, and who would make decisions on theatres of operation, Mr Holyoake said: “This has still to be worked out. We still have to have talks with Australia and South Vietnam.”
