Mr L. M. Johnston, district mechanical engineer for the Railways Department in Wellington, will become assistant chief mechanical engineer on the retirement of Mr C. T. Bishop. Mr H. Cottier has been appointed commercial manager in succession to Mr T. H. Godfrey. Mr C. A. Inch will be presented with the gold star badge and certificate of the Returned Services’ Association at a function at Rakaia tomorrow evening by the Dominion president (Mr H. Mitchell). Mr Mitchell will return to Wellington on Sunday morning. The award of the badge is in recognition of Mr Inch’s work in rehabilitation and land settlement.
