Contracts Let By Board A tender of £19,657 by D. J. O’Donovan and Sons, Ltd., has been accepted by the Christchurch Drainage Board for the third section of the Avonhead sewer reticulation project. The tender was the lowest of six. The others were: Waddell Construction, Ltd., £22,127; A. Edmond and Son, Ltd., £24,452; C. L. Cox, Ltd., £24,960; Gordon T. Browne (Christchurch), Ltd., £25,275; George Chaffey, Ltd., £26,721. Only one tender was received for the Matipo street sewer diversion. It was of £2020 by Gordon T. Browne (Christchurch), Ltd., and was accepted. The board has also let contracts to P. T. Wornall and Son (£980) for the No. 20 sewer duplication ventilation and to N. H. Harris (£271) for the North parade stormwater deversion. The Picton avenue-Peverel street stormwater piping contract is being advertised again.
