Mr G. M. Niall has been elected chairman of the head office board of the National Mutual Life Association of Australasia, Ltd., in Melbourne. Mr Niall was previO'Usly vice-chairman and succeeds Sir Robert Knox, who recently reached retiring age and retired from the board. Sir Robert Knox served 24 yeans as a director, for 12 years of which he was chairman.

Sir James Fletcher, who has been chairman of the Tasman Pulp and Paper Company since its intention nearly 13 years ago, will hand over the chairmanship to his son, Mr J. C. Fletcher, at the end of this year. He will continue as a director.
