Leader Has 60ft Putt

The Australian, Bruce Devlin, ending a brilliant round with a 60ft putt on the final hole, shared the lead after the third round on Saturday with Billy Martindale in the 100,000-doliar New Orleans golf tournament. Devlin shot 67 and Martindale 68 for 54-hole totals of 204, which is 12 under par for the 7020-yard par-72 Lakewood course. Dick Mayer had a fine 66 for 205 and third place, while Jack Nlcklaus, who held the lead on Friday, had a 72 and shares fourth place at 206 with Phil Rodgers. The New Zealander, R. J. Charles, was eliminated at the end of the second round. Three Tie And Share Title

Michael Burgess, Clive Clark, and Dudley Millensted, all finished with 72-hole totals of 259. rt is the first time in the history of the event that there has been a triple tie.
