WAIPUNA SALE

Cattle Sell Well In line with recent sales elsewhere, prices at the Walpuna cattle sale on the West Coast showed a substantial rise on last year s event. Though the day was wet and cold there was a good attend ance of buyers from the West Coast, Canterbury, and Nelson, and a lotal clearance of 61100 calves and 170 adult cattle. The cattle came forward in good order in spite of the relatively poor season experienced over the last year. Principal sales were: on ac count of Walpuna station. 80 Aberdeen Angus steer calves at £l9 10s to £25 ss; Hahn estate, 31 Aberdeen Angus cross steer calves at £l7 15s to £23 ss, 35 heifer calves at £l3 to £l6 ss: A. T. Hahn, 14 Aberdeen Angus cross steer calves at £l7 15s to £23 ss, 21 heifer calves at £l3 to £l6 ss: P. H. Prendergast. Hi Aberdeen Angus cross steer calves at £23. 19 heifer calves at £l5 ss; Lands and Survey Department, 62 Aberdeen Angus steer calves at £l5 10s to £24, 96 heifer calves at £9 to £l5: Kopara Cattle Company. 16 Hereford Shorthorn cross steer calves at £23 ss, 18 Aberdeen Angus Shorthorn cross heifer calves at £l7 10s: Passmore Stewart. 15 Aberdeen Angus steer calves at £24 15s; A. Walpuna station also sold 12 Aberdeen Angus In-calf cows at £2O 5s and 140 Aberdeen Angus and Hereford 18-months steers at £3l 5s to £36. The sale was conducted by Dalgety and New Zealand Loan, Ltd..
