Forest And Bird Society Outing
One hundred and fifty members of the Canterbury branch of the Royal Forest and Bird Protection Society made their final field trip for the 1964-65 season when they visited the View Hill property, near Oxford, on Saturday. A large variety of native plant life was noted, including the white and black pines, pohakas and rimus. Bellbirds, fantails, tomtits, and riflemen were observed in the bush, and paradise ducks and whitefaced herons were seen in the open country.
