Decision On Age Limit (N.Z P.A .-Reuter—Copyright > „ NEW DELHI, May 2. The Indian Cricket Board of Control has decided to cancel the proposed tour of England this summer of an Ali lndia team. The decision was taken at a special general meeting of the board “in view of the Indian Education Ministry insisting on an age limit of 20 lor players to be selected for the tour. The board was of the opinion that a tour by players under 20 would not benefit Indian crickei. In a resolution passed earlier In Jaipur it said the team should consist of younn cricketers not over 22. with the exception of four who should not be over 24. According to Mr M. Chinnaswamy, the board secretary, the Education Ministry Indicated on April 1 the tour could not be sanctioned because of foreign exchange difficulties. At this stage the Ministry did not raise sny objections about the age limits, he said. The Finance Ministry turned down the tour on April 9. and the president of the board met the Prime Minister to discuss the matter. Mr Chinnaswamy de clared.
