91 And 90 Years Old
Mr Cuthbert Shaw, of 31 Browne street, Timaru, was 91 yesterday. Mr Shaw’s parents arrived at Lyttelton from Kilsythe. Scotland, in the Queen of Mersey in 1862. Mr Shaw farmed at Geraldine and Seadown and worked at the Canterbury Farmers’ Co-operative Association in Timaru for 10 years. Mrs A. H. Roberts, of Pleasant Point, was 90 yesterday. She is the mother of 10 children, of whom eight are living. Mrs Roberts and her husband, who died in 1960, came to the district 46 years ago, farming at Sutherlands before moving to Pleasant Point township.
