Decor Defended
New Zealand theatres were not “terribly old-fashioned and depressing,” Mr A. J. Elliot, general manager of J. C. Williamson Theatres, said in Wellington, replying to a statement by Mr Peter Jones, star of the French farce “Boeing, Boeing.” Theatres in this country were comparable with the majority in England and the United States, said Mr Elliot.
