UV.Z.P.A.- Reuter—Copyright) BULAWAYO (Rhodesia), April 30. The Rhodesian Prime Minister, Mr lan Smith, said tonight he would have to study the statement today by Mr Wilson before making any comment.
Mr Smith said: “This is obviously an important matter and I shall have to study the text before making any comment.” Mr David Butler, leader of the Rhodesia Party—the official Opposition in the last Parliament—said he did not
think Britain should threaten Rhodesia without making suggestions for solving the situation there. He added, however, that he agreed the Rhodesian Government had not clearly explained the consequences of a unlateral declaration of independence.
