Shorter Visit By Bottomley

(N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, April 30. The British Secretary of State for Commonwealth Relations, Mr Arthur Bottomley, will now only be in New Zealand for two days, instead of six, as originally planned. The British High Commissioner’s office said today that the cut was made to enable Mr Bottomley to be back in London in time for the debate on the Steel Nationalisation Bill, set down for May 6. Mr Bottomley will arrive in New Zealand on Sunday and will leave on Tuesday morning.

Qantas Boeing 707 jets will fly all services between Christchurch and Sydney from May 10 to May 28. Air New Zealand’s turbo-prop Electras have been rescheduled for flights in and out of Wellington and Auckland during this period. Electras will continue to fly the Christchurch-Mel-bourne service.
