Cool Day
There were early morning showers in Christchurch yesterday and temperatures were below average for this time of the year, but the mild windless conditions did not emphasise the cool temperatures. The temperature at Harewood at 9 a.m. was 46 degrees and at noon it was 52 degrees. A maximum temperature of 54 degrees was recorded at ‘ the airport at 3 p.m. when the temperature at the Botanic Gardens was 57 degrees. At 4.15 p.m. the temperature gauge on the Government Life building registered 56 degrees.
