TAX RELIEF SOUGHT
Bonus Share Issues (N.Z. Press Association) WANGANUI, April 30. The Government should at once make necessary amendments to remove from the scope of income tax all issues of bonus shares, the Auckland Chamber of Commerce said in a report prefacing a remit at the annual conference of the Associated Chambers of Commence in Wanganui today. Bonus shares issued from accumulated profits did not constitute income to the recipient shareholders, the remit said. The Minister of Finance (Mr Lake) should be tion to exclude such- bonus asked to amend the legislaissues of shares by non-pri-vately controlled companies from the definition of “dividends.''
