Arthritis And Rheumatism
(Special Crspdt. N.Z.P.A.) LONDON, April 29. Rheumatism and arthritis cost industry an estimated £lOO million each year, Mr Angus Ogilvy said in his presidential address to the annual meeting of the British Rheumatism and Arthritis Association. The diseases were responsible for a loss of 26 million working days, or one-tenth of the total time lost each year through all illnesses, he said. These were alarming statistics and there could be little doubt that this group of diseases was one of the main sources of misery and suffering facing modern mankind.
