Manchester On Goal Average (N.Z.P.A.-Reuter —Copyright) LONDON, April 29. Manchester United is champion of the English Football League, but only on goal average. In its final first division game of the season last night, Manchester lost, 1-2, to Aston Villa. It finished with 61 points, the same number as Leeds United. At Zaragoza, Spain, West Ham United's heroic defence carried it into the final of the European Cup-winners’ Cup when it held Real Zaragoza to a 1-1 draw in the second leg of their semi-final tie. The London club, which won the first leg match, 2-1 earlier this month, triumphed on aggregate, by 3-2. It will meet in the final T.S.V. Munich or Torino, at Wembley, on May 19. Results of matches in Britain were: ENGLISH LEAGUE Division One.—Aston Villa 2, Manchester United 1; Sunderland 3, Sheffield Wednesday 0. Division Two.—Bolton 1, Cardiff 0; Leyton 1, Coventry 3; Manchester City 2, Charlton 1. Division Three.—Exeter 1, Bournemouth 3; Peterborough 1, Gillingham 0. Division Four.—Wrexham 2. Torquay 3. SCOTTISH LEAGUE Division One. —Dunfermline 5. Celtic 1; Third Lanark 0, Motherwell 2. Division Two.—Albion 2, Alloa 3; East Fife 5, Forfar 2; Raith 1, Ayr 1.
