KELVINATOR PROFIT
New Peak Of £413,722 (N.Z. Press Assn.—Copyright) SYDNEY, April 28. Consolidated net profit of Kelvinator Australia, Ltd., appliance maker and distributor, rose by £19,147 to a new peak of £413,722 for the year ended March 31, directors announced yesterday. A final dividend of 5 per cent plus a bonus of equal amount brings the total for the year to an unchanged 15 per cent. Earning rate rises from 30.2 to 31.7 per cent on present paid capital of £1,265,265. Profit is after sharply increased tax of £505,000 (up £125,000) and depreciation £327,726 (up £15,882). Gross profit, before deducting the tax and depreciation charges, rose almost 14.8 per cent to £1,246,448. Preference dividends take £12,200, while the ordinary payments absorb £189,844.
