LANCASTER PARK

Building In Hand Building and renovations at Lancaster Park will be completed in time for the major Rugby matches, reported Mr H. C. Blazey, chairman of the building committee, at a meeting of the Victory Park Board last evening. Mr Blazey produced plans for a men’s lavatory block under No. 3 stand, to be completed by June 30, and said construction on the open No. 2 stand would be completed in six weeks. The painting of the seats in No. 3 stand was in hand. The meeting approved a recommendation by the committee that an unscaleable wire fence be constructed behind No. 3 stand and two concretewalled garden plots be built on Wilsons road. "Lancaster Park is in splendid condition and I doubt if the turf has ever been better at the start of a season,” said Mr J. O. Hattersley, chairman of the grounds committee. He said the long growth under the embankment had been cleared.

Mr Hattersley said there were only 10 18-year memberships left of the 100 offered recently.
