Name Of Airline

Sir, —I wholeheartedly concur in Mr R. V. Fraker’s sentiments on the recent change of name of “New Zealand’s own airline.” The new name lacks colour and imagination, and is a very parochial move. —Yours, etc., LEST WE FORGET. April 26, 1965.

One of the best-known properties in Christchurch, a double brick house with a shingle roof at the corner of McDougall avenue and Papanui road, was bought by Mr W. Williamson for £20,850 at public auction yesterday. The property was offered on account of the estate of R. E. McDougall by Ford and Hadfield, Ltd. The auctioneer was Mr Denys Chapman. More than 70 persons attended the sale. The initial bid was £14,000. There were 10 bids of £5OO, seven of £250, and one of £lOO.

The 18-year-old centrallyheated house has a livingroom, dining-room, three bedrooms, kitchenette, laundry, and two bathrooms.

Outbuildings on the section of three roods 21.1 perches include two garages and a workshop.
