CHURCHILL AWARDS
Conditions Adopted (N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, April 1. A draft of the conditions of Winston Churchill Memorial Fellowships was adopted by the national organising committee at a meeting in . Wellington today. The chairman (Mr B. E. Woodhams) said that although final conditions were not decided, the committee supported the following principles for making awards to New Zealanders:
(a) Any New Zealand citizen shall be eligible for a Winston Churchill Fellowship. (b) The sole qualification for a fellowship shall be the benefit that, in the opinion of the trustees, New Zealand may gain from the consequent broadening of the experience, training or knowledge of the holder. (c) The terms of the period of each fellowship shall be such as to enable the holder and the country to receive the greatest benefit from the course of training, study, or experience. (d) The tenure of a fellowship may be in New Zealand or in any other country.
