SYDNEY, April 1. The world controlling body of soccer, F.1.F.A., has accepted in principle the formation of the South Pacific Confederation. A confederation executive member (Mr J. Bayutti) said he was told this in a cable from F.I.F.A. headquarters yesterday. Mr Bayutti said F.I.F.A. had invited the confederation to send a representative to the next meeting of its executive in London on May 24. Mr W. Walkley, the confederation president, would attend, Mr Bayutti said. The South Pacific Confederation consists of Australia, New Zealand, Fiji, New Caledonia, Papua-New Guinea and other South Pacific island soccer groups.
