Stalwart Of League
One of the stalwarts of Rugby League in Canterbury, Mr Harry B. Rogers, died in Christchurch yesterday. Mr Rogers had the unique distinction of being a life member of three Rugby League bodies—the New Zealand council, the Canterbury League and the Linwood club. He was the Linwood secretary between 1925 and 1930 and held the office of president of that club. Mr Rogers moved on to provincial administration and for 10 years was the secretary of the Canterbury League, as well as serving as president and treasurer. He was the patron of the Linwood club and a vice-president of the Canterbury. League, Mr Rogers’ other sporting interests included croquet and trotting. He is survived by his wife.
