Architects’ Gold Medal To Dunedin Man

(N.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND, April 1. The Institute of Architects' Bold medal for the best New Zealand building of the year has been awarded to Mr E. J. McCoy, of Dunedin, for his design of St. Paul’s High School, in Dunedin. King and Dawson, of Wellington, were highly commended for the Freyberg swimming pool at Wellington. The awards were announced in Auckland last evening by the institute’s president (Mr G. Laurenson). The silver medal for the

best industrial building or research study in architecture ’ was awarded to King and ' Dawson for their Nelson cool • store project. The Auckland firm of Mark- ; Brown, Fairhead and Associi ates, won the bronze medal for domestic architecture with • a home they designed in Titirangi.
