White Skies Retirement
White Skies was at Riccarton yesterday morning but he did not partake in any of the training activities. Mr J. Y. Scales has decided to retire the Massowa gelding and his future will be as a hack on a Banks Peninsula farm. At present White Skies is proving useful to R. P. Register, who prepares the bulk of Mr Scales’s horses, in helping to educate three of Mr Scales’s yearlings. These youngsters are being prepared for race careers next season. White Skies’s place in the Register stable will be taken by We’ll Find Out. His Command will also join the team shortly. He will have his last race from E. P. Corboy’s Washdyke stable in the Wairewa Stakes at Motukarara next Saturday. 1
