Africans See Bottomley

Five African nationalist leaders under restriction were today flown to Sarum, near Salisbury, to meet Mr Arthur Bottomley, the Commonwealth Secretary. They are former leaders of the banned Zimbalwe African National Union. Leading the union delegation was Mr Leopold Takawira, the vice-president The leader of the organisation, the Rev. N. Sithole, was unable to see Mr Bottomley as he is serving a prison sentence for an offence under the Law and Order (Maintenance Act.
