Sir Leslie Munro, M.P. for Waipa, left for the United States last night. He was accompanied by Lady Munro. While in America he will consult with State Department officials in Washington and will confer with leaders at the United Nations. He will return in six weeks.—(P.A.) Mr W. A. McKean, aged 23, an arts and law graduate of Otago University, has been awarded the Gordon Watson Scholarship for post-graduate study overseas for 1965-67. Mr McKean intends to read for a doctorate of philosophy at. Brasenose College, Oxford, on the protection of human rights at international law.—(P.A.)
