Light Work At Forbury

(From Our Own Reporter)

DUNEDIN

Most of the horses which raced at Forbury Park on Saturday were let off with light tasks yesterday morning. Garcon d’Or and Adioway worked keenly over two miles in 4min 45sec, the last mile in 2min llsec. Neither horse had any luck on Saturday but both look ready to make amends at short notice.

White World was given a solid run taking 2min 11 2-5 sec for her last mile, the final four furlongs in Imin ssec. White World was most disappointing on Saturday, but she is capable of early improvement. Lordship paced free-legged showing no signs of soreness. Guiness and Palpitate were worked unhoppled, both horses hitting out keenly. Our Eileen, Golden Ego and Whaka worked strongly, Our Eileen, in particular, impressing. A mare with a fine record as a stayer, she broke several times on Saturday. The Perth horses. Pacing Lawn and Minton Hall, were taken to a beach for swimming exercise, but the rough surf restricted plans for a long swim. Both horses came through their racing in great heart. U.S. Interest Pacing Lawn has aroused the interest of the president of Yonkers Raceway and negotiations for him to race in New York later in the year are under way. Mr Tananbaum has approached several owners, but as far as Tactile and Gramel are concerned he has had no success. The connexions of both horses have decided

against a trip to New York in the meantime. Mr Tananbauin has had no success either with Lordships' owner, Mrs D. G. Nyhan. As well as Mr Tananbaum the Auckland trainer. J. ,1. Cooney, is also in the field trying to secure horses for the United States, but so far no contracts have been signed.
