PEACE IN CYPRUS
‘Prospects Are Belter’ (N.Z.P.A.-Reuter—Copyright) ATHENS, February 20. Mr Galo Plaza, the United Nations mediator for Cyprus, said in Athens yesterday that the situation on Cyprus looked much better now. “We can find common ground for understanding if we can get the people concerned to sit down and find a solution to their problem,” he said. Mr Plaza arrived in Athens last Wednesday for talks with the Greek Government. He said a line of communication should sooner or later be established between Greek and Turkish Cypriots at any level, because it was the Cypriots who would have to decide for themselves the conditions under which they would like to live.
