UNIONISTS RELEASED

A New York State supreme court justice yeeterday released 19 union officials gaoled last month for leading a city welfare department strike In defiance of a court Injunction. He ordered the prisoners— Including six women—to surrender themselves on March 3 to resume serving their 30day sentences unless directed otherwise by the court. The 28-day strike, which severely curtailed welfare work In the city, ended with an agreement last Sunday between members of two unions representing the workers and city officials. Each of the union leaders was sentenced for criminal contempt of an anti-strike Injunction.
