PASSION FOR HOUSEWORK
“Children Were Neglected” (A'.Z.P.A.-Reuter— Copyright) LONDON, February 3. Three children were put in a council home this week because, a court was told, their mother is too house-proud. The children, aged eight, 10 and 11, were said to have been neglected because of the mother’s “extraordinary passion” for housework. The juvenile eourt at Nottingham was told the father finally called in the National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children. The father -was said to have told an N.S;P.C.C. inspector his wife kept so busy with housework she prepared only one meal a week for the family. She was always washing her hands and making the children wash theirs—even after having a cup of tea. The father was said to have told the inspector: “When the children are away from school their life is hell."
