Ambitions In Space
(N.Z.P.A.-Reuter—Copyright/ DJAKARTA, January 6. Indonesia expects to launch its first astronaut into orbit in 1968, according to ViceMarshal Budiardjo, deputy chief of air staff. This year Indonesia planned to take part in an outer space survey, he said. It is not believed possible among observers that Indonesia could launch an astronaut into space unless given vast technical and material assistance by another country. It is thought unlikely any country would be willing to foot the tremendous expenditure needed just for Indonesian prestige. Indonesia also earlier announced her intention to explode an atomic bomb this year.
