STOPPED AT AIRPORT
Woman On Way To N.Z. (N.Z. Press Assn.—Copyright) SYDNEY, January 6. A mother prevented by a court order last week from taking her two-year-old daughter to New Zealand wished to live permanently in New Zealand, the Equity Court was told today. She is Mrs Wana Margaret Paynter. Last Wednesday, her husband, Malcolm Ronald Paynter, ' of West Pennant Wills, Sydney, obtained an order from Mr Justice Begg to prevent her leaving Australia with their daughter, Mandy. Mrs Paynter was at Mascot Airport waiting to join a flight to New Zealand when the order was served on her. Today, Mr K. Walsh, for Mrs Paynter, told Mr Justice Begg that yesterday he had a long conference with Mrs Paynter and her mother, who was also subject to the court order. Mr Walsh said he was having discussions with counsel for the husband. Mrs Paynter wished to live permanently in New Zealand but the child could be brought back to Australia, he said. By consent, Mr Justice Begg adjourned the hearing until tomorrow to allow discussions to continue.
