N.Z. NAVAL BOARD
Promotions Announced (N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, Jan. 4. The New Zealand Naval Board has announced the following promotions which are effective from December 31, 1964:
To Captain, R.N.Z.N.—Commander (acting captain) S. F. Mercer, R.N.Z.N., Royal New Zealand Navy officer in London.
To Commander, R.N.Z.N.— Lieutenant-Commander (acting commander) G. A. Lawrence, R.N.Z.N,, on loan to the Royal Malaysian Navy. To Lieutenant Commander, R.N.Z.N.—Lieutenant T. D. Wickman, R.N.Z.N., officer in charge of the diving school, H.M.N.Z.S. Philomel.
To Commander, R.N.Z.N.V.R.—Lieutenant Commander R. F. Sanderson, R.N.Z.V.R., commanding officer of the Canterbury Division, R.N.Z.N.V.R.
In addition, the board announced the following promotions which will be effective from June 30, 1965: To Captain, R.N.Z.N.—Commander (acting captain) J. F. McKenzie, R.N.Z.N., commanding officer of H.M.N.Z.S. Philomel.
To Commander, R.N.Z.N.— Lieutenant Commander (acting commander) J. I. Quinn, R.N.Z.N., commanding officer of H.M.N.Z.S. Tamaki.
