TRAINING OF ENGINEERS
Real Attack In Malaysia Seen (N.Z.P. A. -Reuter—Copyright) SINGAPORE, Dec. 29. The University of Malaya and the Singapore Polytechnic were putting on “a real attack” on the problem of training engineers for local needs, said Professor N. A. Mowbray, dean of the School of Engineering at the University of Auckland, who is in Singapore on the last leg of a 10-day Malaysian tour. He said Malaysia in general was getting to a stage where she was training most of her engineers. Professor Mowbray suggested that there should be more frequent visits by Malaysian engineers and engineering teaching staff to New Zealand, and vice versa.
