BAZAAR IN SEOUL
International Contributions
An international bazaar held recently in Seoul by the National Council of Women of the Republic of Korea raised about £2567 for its work. Branches of the N.C.W. of New Zealand sent many gifts to the international section, as did 13 other national councils, the Embassy Wives Club in Korea and the Seoul International Women’s Association. New Zealand women sent knitting yarn, earrings, dolls, teaspoons, brooches, rulers, scarves, brushes, oven mitts, tea towels and other gifts, many of which carried a New Zealand motif. The national president of the N.C.W. of New Zealand (Mrs W. Grant) recently received a letter of thanks for the gifts from Choong Ryang Chung, executive secretary of the N.C.W. of Korea, who asked Mrs Grant to let branches know of her council’s gratitude. In addition to the amount raised at the bazaar a further sum of about £lBOO had been donated to the N.C.W. of Korea by Dr. Helen Kim for “the betterment of womanhood in Korea,” she said.
