RADIOACTIVE MATERIAL
Leak Found In Truck (N.Z. Press Assn.—Copyright > NEW YORK, Dec. 29. A tractor-trailer truck apparently carrying radioactive material was halted near Concord, North Carolina, last night because it was “leaking,” police said. Highway patiolmen refused to say what the truck was carrying; but they said a radiological team from the State Civil Defence headquarters was being rushed to the scene. The truck was believed on the way from Augusta, Georgia, to Winston-Salem, North Carolina, when the driver apparently discovered the leak Dr. William Wilson, head of the radiological team, said he believed the truck carried radio-active material.
