Indonesia Plans Misslie Launch
(N.Z.P.A.- Reuter—Copyright) DJAKARTA, Decembei' 29. The Indonesian Army is to launch a guided missile and home-made rockets from a base in' West Java tomorrow.
The announcement was made by the Army Information Service in Djakarta today. It gave no details. The army has launched rockets several times in the past to test their power. The Indonesian Air Transport Workers’ Association has decided to boycott American military aircraft from January 1, Antara said. Antara said the association urged the Government to revoke the landing permit of American military aircraft. Antara reported today that thousands of youths had demonstrated in protest against the United States yesterday. The youths marched to the Governor’s office in Pakanbaru, central Sumatra, carrying flags and banners. They
burned American films in front of the Governor, Antara said. The demonstration came in the midst of Malaysian preparations to repel any Indonesian attack on the fledgling federation before “the cock crows on January 1.” A warning of vast aggression by Indonesia was given earlier this year by President Sukarno, who promised to crush Malaysia by the year’s end. Later, police reported they had arrested two Indonesian infiltrators of a group of nine believed to have landed yesterday on Singapore Island, usually reliable sources reported. They said police were hunting the other seven in western areas of the island. The infiltrators are believed to have come from the nearby Indonesian Rhio Islands. One unconfirmed report said three empty sampans had been found yesterday drifting in Singapore waters. Today’s search was going on in a sparsely-populated area near the Singapore Government’s developing Jurong industrial estate.
