Off Course Fancied For Auckland Summer Cup

AUCKLAND, December 27.

Off Course, a visitor from Awapuni, and the Takanini-trained Hamir may be the successful combination for the T.A.B. double on the second day of the Auckland Racing Club’s summer meeting at Ellerslie on Tuesday.

Off Course will have to contend with a number of well performed middle-distance rivals in the first leg, tne | Summer Cup. If this event is chosen as the mission for Red Count, instead of the Clifford Plate, he is bound to be one of Off Course’s hardest rivals. Yardstick, which will be trying for his third win on end, is another expected to go very well. Kitty Kildare, the runnerup to Baraboo in the Newmarket Handicap yesterday, and Khadija, a promising 1 fifth against the milers in the Christmas Handicap on the [ first day, seem the most 1 likely to test Hamir in the second leg, the Electric Handicap. If the fine spell continues I the track will again be in exi cellent order.
